Yes, it's true...this site is called "Cosmetic Surgery WIFE".  But c'mon, I know not everyone reading this is married!  Some of us are engaged or are just thinking about it.  Either way, how can you save money on a dress that is supposed to be worn on the most important day of your life?

Here are a few tricks that can help you take that money that you'll be saving on your wedding dress and add it to the "First Bank of Cosmetic Surgery".  First of all consider the person you are marrying.  Have a frank discussion with him or her to find out how important it is that everything be brand spankin' new.  If he or she doesn't mind, then you're in the clear!  After they hear that the average wedding costs $20,000, I don't think they'll mind at all.  There are various ways that you can cut costs on your dress and still have a beautiful wedding.  The first thing you would want to do is consider what kind of budget you're working with.  That is the only way you're going to be able to keep your spending under control.  Decide how much you're going to spend and don't go a penny over it!

Give your self time - Giving yourself ample time to shop will avoid any last minute high priced emotional spendi

ng.  By having more time, you give yourself an opportunity to shop around and you're not buying something just because of "tradition" .

Shop second hand - If you're not dead set on having a brand new dress, you can often find great dresses at a consignment shop, on Ebay, or in the classifieds.  When you think about it, generally, most wedding dresses have only been worn once!

Rent your dress - If you're not hung up on keeping your dress for future generations, renting can also be an option.

Consider evening gowns - Who says that a wedding dress has to be a dress made specifically for that purpose?  You can even find what you're looking for right off the rack in a department store that can be just as elegant and considerably less expensive.

Shop for samples - It is common for many bridal shops to have "sample sales".  This is where they clean out their remaining stock of each year's wedding dresses.  Call local bridal shops and find out if and when they're holding their next sample sale.  It may take a little more planning but believe me, you can find some great deals on designer dresses this way!

Planning ahead and not being afraid to break from tradition will save you lots of time, stress and headaches.  It will also save you money!  And isn't that what your ultimate goal is? to save money? Money you'll only be too happy to spend on your new look. Now that's how you save for cosmetic surgery!
