Even though you have thoroughly thought about your breast augmentation surgery and decided that it's the thing you want, it can still be nerve wracking the day before you are due to go in. You may be anxious, jittery, and you might even be thinking that you want to change your mind. However, usually this goes away once you are in the clinic and ready to go. There are some tips to help you stay calm before your breast augmentation, and some really great ideas to try.
Make a List –
Make a list of the reasons that you decided to get breast augmentation surgery. Maybe you have spent your entire adult life wishing that your breasts looked different. Perhaps you feel like less of a woman than others with larger breasts. Maybe you even hate the way your real breasts look. Write these things down, and then read them back to yourself. As you read them, think about the rest of your life without having your breasts done. Would you be able to be happy with your body the way it is? Re-thinking the reasons that made you decide to have the surgery in the first place can really help you calm down and relax a bit more.
Go Out –
Do something fun on the day before the surgery. Go out with your girlfriends and do something that you enjoy doing, such
Exercise –
This sounds strange, but exerting energy and doing some intense exercise can truly help you work off the jitters, and get your mind off the surgery. The key is to do something you really enjoy. Swim a few laps in the pool, jog a mile, kick box or whatever it is that you like to do best. Not only is exercise really great for you, but it can keep your thoughts on more mundane things than your surgery and it will help you relax.
Confide –
Talk your concerns over with a friend. This will help you feel much better. Getting support when you need it is very important, especially at a time when you are nervous or afraid. When you are able to talk about what's bothering you, you can really feel a lot better and get those things out of your mind. A best friend is the best person you can do this with! They will support and love you, and may have other ideas for things that you can do to relax and calm down.
There are many different things you can do, and the key is to just keep your mind off of the surgery if it makes you that nervous. If talking helps, by all means, do that. The anticipation is always harder than the actual task but once you are finished, you will feel better and be glad.
