Sounds simple enough doesn't it?  But you'd be surprised to know how many people actually do not have a budget!  Spending without knowing how much you're actually spending is a recipe for disaster.

Remember, because you have a budget, doesn't mean that you are automatically going to spend less, it helps you focus on your priorities.  One of your priorities that you've set for yourself, or should we say, a goal...is cosmetic surgery.  Without a budget, you can rest assured that is one way, it will not happen.

How do you make a budget?
The first thing you have to do is list all of your monthly obligations from debt and mortgage to utility bills.  Items that you pay for every month that sometimes slip your mind are things like healt

h club memberships and insurance.  Then, using your take-home pay, (after tax and after savings), subtract your monthly loans and bills so you'll know what is left for items like gas for the car, groceries and clothing.  We're not finished yet because you can't forget about the little things that can eat away at your pocketbook if you're not careful.  Things like lunches out, dry cleaning and entertainment.  At this point, it is necessary to mention that an emergency savings account would be prudent for things like emergency car and home repair.  This prevents you from having to use a credit card to pay for unexpected expenses.

Being disciplined is the key to a successful budget.  You have to stick to it in order for it to work.  You may have to cut back on things like going to the movies, renting DVD's, or going to restaurants.  Learn how to use coupons, have home movie nights, plan family fun nights and cost efficient activities together.

Keeping in line with your budget will bring you that much closer to your ultimate goal of cosmetic surgery.
