We all know that when watching television children tend to want practically everything that they see, actually the same could be said for some adults as well.  Plus, if they're older kids they want the latest tennis shoes, jeans, backpacks and everything else new (under the sun).  As parents we (naturally) want to give them the very best.  So, how do you save money on your children's toys while not compromising quality over cost and still giving them the best items that they want?

After all, the ultimate goal is to get the most with the least amount to fit your pocketbook, and save enough money to get that browlift!  It's called compromise.  You don't have to tell your children everything (not that they care anyway as long as they get what they want), but you can begin with some innovative ideas that can make everyone happy. 

Host a toy party - Kids may play with toys for a little while and then lo and behold, they've gotten tired of it and prefer to play with the box it came in instead! So, invite some friends and family over to a toy party, asking everyone to bring good toys they're willing to exchange.  Have some snacks, play some games, invent a way to exchange toys without spending a dime. 

Exchange a box with friends - With this, all you have to do is put a box in the closet and when your child is finished playing with a toy (provided it is in good condition), place it in the box (ask your close friends to do the same).  When the boxes are full, exchange them. 

In no time flat you'll have more money to add to your cosmetic surgery kitty!
